Centipedes

Common North Georgia Pests

Yellow-jackets, can be found in high concentrations in Georgia.  A very aggresive member of the wasp family, yellow jackets have a lance-like stinger with small barbs and typically sting repeatedly.  It will mark aggressors, and will pursue them if provoked. The German Yellowjacket, a non-native species is even more aggressive than the Eastern yellow jacket and is rapidly overtaking their populations.  While a fond mascot of Georgia Tech, you don't want these around your home!
